The Melbourne lunch and Annual General Meeting

The September 2026 MELBOURNE lunch and Annual RAOTC General Meeting will be held at the Caulfield RSL on Thursday 17th September at 12:00 hours for the AGM followed by the lunch. (Email about the zoom link will be sent out closer to time).

The speaker will be Peter Cossins VK3BFG and His presentation is titled:
The Melbourne ATV Repeater VK3RTV A Brief History – the journey from Analogue AM to High Definition Television

Synopsis

The first repeater consisted of a domestic TV receiver, a 10 watt high level modulated transmitter and a simple control system built by Les Jenkins VK3ZBJ (SK). The antennas were also designed by Les, and members of the Melbourne ATV Group. They built both the receive and transmit arrays in one day at Les’ factory. The antennas were installed right at the top of the tower at Olinda and hence the coverage around Melbourne was excellent with the exception of a shadow cast locally by One Tree Hill.

The Caulfield RSL offers a two course meal [tea and coffee included] at a cost of $36.00 per head. Soft drink, beer, wine and other drinks can be purchased from the bar.

Bookings are essential.We will not be able to accept payment on the day.

RAOTC members are welcome to bring guests, but we must have firm bookings and payment no later than Friday 11th September.
