The Melbourne March luncheon was held on March 26th at the Caulfield RSL.

The speaker was Peter Marks VK3TPM
His presentation titled:
“AI and Amateur Radio”
You’ve probably at least heard of ChatGPT and perhaps asked it a few general questions, but where Large Language Models really shine is in software development.
Peter Marks, VK3TPM, has been using Anthropic’s Claude Code to develop software for amateur radio. A recent experiment to do work on Amateur Radio’s foremost example of AI – FreeDV RADE V1 – was able to do “months of expert work” in just a day.
Peter showed practical examples of developing with Claude and also brings us up to date on the latest advances in digital voice over HF which is taking off around the world. There is a video available here.
Please note that the previously advertised talk by Peter Cousins VK3BFG has been deferred due to ill-health.
