Well attended lunch talk by Nigel Holmes VK3DZ

The Melbourne chapter of the Radio Amateurs Old Timers club had an informative and entertaining presentation by Nigel Holmes, VK3DZ about the role of the Shepparton International High Frequency Transmitting Station in researching the ionosphere and even reflecting HF signals from the Moon’s surface.

The site is best known as a primary transmission location for Radio Australia.

The luncheon was held in downstairs room, rather than the upstairs venue used in the past but I felt it was an excellent space, close to the kitchen and a well stocked bar.

Some visitors came from the Macedon club in central Victoria

After Nigel’s excellent presentation, Peter VK3TPM, showed (this) new web site which got a warm reception from the crowd.
