The citations for their respective awards are below

OTN 71, March 2023 – My radio Life – Winston Nickols VK7EM [2 parts]

Winston has produced a very comprehensive personal history of his radio career from the early days servicing TVs in the 1960’s , through his professional career to the current day. It included many anecdotes which would be of interest to members and shows how much amateur radio played a role in his personal development.

OTN 73, March 2024 Leading Lights and Bright Sparks – Peter Wolfenden VK3RV [2 parts]

Peter produced a well-researched and comprehensive article about the people involved in the City of Melbourne Power supplies. Starting with the first street lighting in Melbourne  [1847], He covered the development of Melbourne’s electric power supply and the many changes that occurred over time.

The committee felt both candidates were worthy of their awards and notes the excellent pictures that accompanied Peter Wolfenden’s article.
